MALA MAALAYA is a symbolic T-shirt created through the collaboration between KOLAM and GORE-TEX Studio.

Designed to welcome friends and members of the GORE-TEX Studio community, the piece reinterprets the traditional South Asian flower garland Mala Maalaya in Sinhala, a universal emblem of hospitality, celebration, and peace. Traditionally offered in moments of respect and joy, it is reimagined here as a contemporary gesture of connection and unity.

The front features a floral garland intertwined with Kolams signature jewelry elements, while the back honors South Asian cultural roots in Paris, with the citys name rendered in Sinhala, Tamil, Hindi, and Urdu. More than a garment, MALA MAALAYA carries a shared language of welcome bridging cultures, identities, and geographies.
