Kolam Paris
Sri-Lanka Nano Cantine
Inspired by the personal story of its creator, Kolam was born out of the desire to bring together a community around Sri Lankan culture and flavors, but above all around the values of diversity, sharing, and creativity. Kolam first takes the form of a nano cantina with a counter (dine-in, takeaway, or delivery), offering a Sri Lankan fusion cuisine, with a menu inspired by popular and traditional dishes from the country.
The term "Kolam" is borrowed from the eponymous folk opera that has long been a part of rural life in Sri Lanka. For centuries, traditional spirituality has been expressed through this popular theater, where actors wear masks—masks that also inspired the logo.

My mission with Kolam is to reinterpret the South Asian vision in a modern way and break the norms of traditional restaurants. I have been supporting the restaurant since its inception, creating visuals and bringing together teams to stay as coherent as possible in our pursuit of even the wildest ideas. The restaurant is expanding and aims to explore other themes: textile, events, music and art galleries. Since its creation, we’ve had the opportunity to design our own Campus sneakers in collaboration with Adidas, create hats and textile items inspired by the restaurant's visual identity, and the story is far from over!
